01 — Bio
Strategy, ventures,
and building things.
I'm a strategy and business builder with 25 years of experience across media, consumer brands, and technology. My career has run the gamut from investment banking and hedge funds to Fortune 500 corporate strategy, a decade of independent consulting, and most recently serving across four C-suite roles at a PE-backed consumer health company.
I started at Morgan Stanley, which gave me a rigorous foundation in how businesses are valued and how deals get done. That led to hedge fund investing, then to Discovery Communications, where I spent six years on the global strategy and development team — co-creating the Oprah Winfrey Network, building partnerships with Google, Apple, and Expedia, and leading the company's five-year strategic planning process.
For a decade after that I ran my own strategy practice, working with brands like Boll & Branch, Shinola, and Vince on growth strategy, CRM, and eCommerce — and co-founded a customer analytics SaaS platform used by hundreds of retailers. Since 2021 I've been at Journey Health & Lifestyle, where I've held the roles of CSO, CFO, Interim CEO, and CSOO — running strategy, finance, product, operations, and technology all at once.
I'm drawn to the moment when a business has to reinvent itself: new markets, new technology, new competitive realities. I'm based in Richmond, VA.
